Mechanical Repair Technician 2

Mechanical Repair Technician 2 
 

 

The Mechanical Repair Technician 2 is responsible for  troubleshooting, testing and repairing a variety of mechanical assemblies for the textile industry.

 

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

  • To repair mechanical items in a timely manner, including:
  • Chucks
  • Godets
  • Blowers
  • Pumps
  • Motors
  • Rolls

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Complete work orders for all repairs

Assist in pulling and stocking inventory as needed

Operate forklift occasionally (in-house training and certification program if needed)

Pull part and manage stock levels for above repairs

Anything requested by immediate supervisor

Ability to independently repair a minimum of one category of mechanical repairs.   For Example Chucks

Familiarity with Corporate HSE and OOE standards

 

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Complete work orders for all repairs
  • Assist in pulling and stocking inventory as needed
  • Operate forklift occasionally (In-house training and certification program if needed)
  • Pull parts and manage stock levels for above repairs
  • Anything requested by immediate supervisor

 

Equipment to be used:

  • Hand toold including wrenches, hammers and screw drivers
  • Inspection equipment including calibers, gauges, test stands Hydraulic press
  • Drills
  • Grinders
  • Pallet jacks and fork lift

 

Required knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Must be reliable, self-motivated and willing to learn
  • A high school degree is required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and at different levels with internal employees
  • Must be able to speak , read and write English fluently
  • Ability to read drawings and parts lists
  • Must have a mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and repairing mechanical assemblies
  • A familiarity of shop machines such as: bench grinder, lathe, milling machine, hand tools, soldering / desoldering iron, drill press, multi-meter, arbor press, hydraulic press and pneumatic screwdriver

 

Preferred qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent military or work experience a plus

Previous industrial mechanicial repair experience preferred
